The Read-A-Thon is back!! Engage your kids during school and at home and reinforce great reading habits. The Read-A-Thon will run from February 28 through March 20.
Students will set a goal for the number of minutes that they will read. The students then ask family members, friends, and neighbors to sponsor money for that goal. More information, as well as pledge sheets and reading logs will be provided in the coming weeks.
Volunteers are needed for the Read-A-Thon to assist in tracking the number of minutes reported by each student and classroom, purchasing prizes, seeking prizes donations and other tasks as needed.
If you’re interested in assisting with the Read-A-Thon, please reach out to us at d300.dhes.ptc@gmail.com!
**Check in from 6:00 to 6:25pm.**
Bowling Night is back with a new twist! Previously known as Mother/Son Bowling Night, the 2022 DHES Bowling Bash is open to ALL Dundee Highlands students!
Join us at Bowlero in Algonquin for a fun-filled night with 90 minutes of bowling, pizza and refreshments alongside DHES friends and classmates. All bowlers will also receive an arcade play card that can be used immediately after bowling or on a future visit to Bowlero.
THERE IS STILL TIME TO RSVP: As this event is shortly after Spring Break, we would ask that all families interested in attending that have not yet RSVPed complete the Bowling Bash RSVP Google Form to reserve your space. Payment of the event fee will be due to school just after Spring Break.
ADULTS & SIBLINGS ARE INVITED TO BOWL: In the interest of accommodating as many students as possible, adults were asked to refrain from bowling, and attendees were limited to DHES students with one adult per household.
Based on responses received, there is plenty of lane space to accommodate adult bowlers, as well as additional adults and older siblings, if desired. If you have already RSVPed for the event as a Non-Bowler and would like to bowl, or if you would like to add individuals to your party, we encourage you to complete the Bowling Bash UPDATED RSVP Google Form. Payment of the event fee will be due to school just after Spring Break.
DHES STAFF & THEIR FAMILIES ARE INVITED TO BOWL: In addition to DHES students and their families, this event would be even more fun if everyone’s favorite DHES faces could join the fun! All DHES teachers and staff members are invited to attend and bowl. (Don’t worry, we will group you with your coworkers, not directly with your students!)
Please complete the Bowling Bash RSVP Google Form to reserve your space. Payment of the event fee will be due to school just after Spring Break.
DECREASED FEE AVAILABLE: For any DHES families who wish to attend, but for which the cost creates a financial hardship, we would love for you to attend and would offer an additional 50% off the fee. Please complete the Bowling Bash RSVP Google Form to reserve your space, indicating your need for a decreased fee. We ask that you exercise this option only if you are unable to attend at the base cost.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at D300.dhes.ptc@gmail.com.
